<image:caption>Project Name and Location: Hunters View Hope VI – Phase 1 & 2, Block 10: San Francisco, CA Total Development Costs: $217.6 Million Funding Sources: 4% and 9% LIHTC, HCD MHP, HCD IIG, San Francisco Redevelopment Agency OCII, San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development, HOPE SF, San Francisco Housing Authority, FHLB Affordable Housing Program (AHP), San Francisco County Description: Building on the lessons learned with the SHA project, DGI initiated the Hunters View Public Housing Hope VI project in 2005. This massive multi-phased endeavor entailed demolishing 267 public housing units (107 in Phase 1, 107 in Phase 2 & 72 in Block 10) and building two parks, a Wellness Center, Childcare Center, and other resident amenities. DGI worked diligently with the San Francisco Housing Authority to develop and implement a 1:1 replacement process to ensure residents of demolished units could live in the newly constructed site. This innovation chartered the course for anti-displacement strategies of other public-funded projects across the country. By Phase II’s completion in February 2019, all original Hunters View households were rehoused in 286 new affordable units. The scale, complexity, and community impacts of Hunter View Phase I, II, and Block 10 made it an award-winning national model for public housing redevelopment.</image:caption>
